Was feeling a bit mis (Watkin family word for miserable)this morning and decided to try playing the Glad Game. A bit tricky at first 'cos I couldn't come up with anything. You will be pleased to know I persevered and finally achieved 10 things to be glad about.
So here they are:
- I have survived the last year relatively intact.
- I have a great niece I adore and dote on
- I have some wonderful friends who put up with an awful lot of misery from me
- I found Gail
- I found John Brinnand - still glad about that
- I did some housework today - someone must have been praying to St Jude for me
- I am going to Canada
- My blog is being read in Argentina!!!!! Maybe I will get to Buenos Ayres and dance the tango after all.
- Someone said I wrote beautifully
- The menopause is over - hurrah!
And it wasn't that hard - maybe Dubs is right and I am coming into bud at last. There are so many other reasons for gladness: Frank, Sandra, Gregg and Phoebe - Michael in Australia, my go to guy when I think the world is about to jettison me into reality. The Farmville folk, specially Annie who cheers me up every single day with our catchphrase "Bloody Farmville", or we did until I reverted to childhood with "bloody Nora" - since when our instant consists of lots and lots of NORAs.
You know what? I rather like this life at the moment (don't all go mad with joy yet - we've been here before) and the reason I like it is that had given me this gift of being able to write what I want and at my own pace. The picture I posted of myself a couple of days ago I now have in a frame with the words 'Forget me Not'. I think I am beginning to find that little girl again and the woman she has become.
The most important thing to remember about the glad game is to remember to be glad. And today, at least, I am.
And if you were wondering why the flowers - I love anemones and i am glad I can remember how to spell them. :-) xxx
