Moon River

An odd title you may say but... no. Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my favourite books and films and Moon River is my song. The one they will play as they carry me out of the church. Sorry, this really isn't going to be a miserable carry on, but it will be played and there won't be a dry eye in the house! I hope.

My Huckleberry friend - I remember reading Tom Sawyer as a child and not liking it very much and then at college doing American Studies reading Huckleberry Finn and loving it. The concept of  "lighting out for the territories", reinventing yourself, journeying down a great river; that is what a great book can do for you: take you to another pace and time and inspire your dreams. So when I hear that line I see myself (and always my mum) "crossing it in style".

Recently, down in Cornwall I was looking out of the window at about midnight and there it  was - the moon river. I have tried to put the picture that I took on this blog but failed miserably - so you will find it just below it on my profile page - sorry best I could do. Must try harder with geekiness!

You may say get to the point Joanna, where are you going with this - nowhere but I promise you this it will be in style "moon river and me".
